IS MY PET A BRACHYCEPHALIC BREED?
We do see brachycephalic breeds for dogs & cats that are being seen for wellness in the clinic, and we are unable to do surgery on ANY smushed face cats; we will, however, operate on smushed face dogs. This is an additional charge of $50. Some dog breeds are: Pug, French bulldog, Boxers, Boston Terrier, Shih Tzu, etc.. Some cat breeds are: Persians and Burmese cats. If you have any questions regarding whether your pet qualifies for the more gentle sedative, please contact us.
female animals that have had c-sections
C-Sections: Our doctor has decided, due to recent surgery, that any dog or cat that has had previous C-sections done will not be able to have surgery with us.
My female pet has had litters!
We do dogs/cats that have had litters of babies naturally. After the momma has had the litter, after she is COMPLETELY done nursing we have to wait 3-4 months after she is COMPLETELY DONE nursing. If you have any questions or concerns about your female pet that has had a litter please contact us.
my pet is CRYPTORCHID
Don't panic, we do know that sometimes animals can be cryptorchid, and that is okay. If your pet is under 1 year old and is cryptorchid, then we will send your sweetie home to let the undescended testicle(s) drop. If your sweetie is over the age of 1 year old, then please contact us and we will set up a "pre-surgery" exam with our doctor to discuss the surgery with you. If you are not sure if your pet is cryptorchid, then contact us, and we are happy to take a look for you to see if they are cryptorchid or not.
My female dog just went into heat before her appointment!
Don't worry! We will do the safe option and reschedule her for when she is completely finished her heat cycle 3-4 months after. It's a safety precaution our doctor likes to take to make sure there is not swelling inside while operating.
